About

David Patton

Photographer

David Patton is an emerging photographer known for a minimalist style that evokes serenity and stillness. David was born in Michigan and raised in Seoul, South Korea. He grew up navigating two distinct cultures. This upbringing gave him a rare sensitivity to the quiet beauty found across different traditions and ways of life.

He discovered photography during the COVID-19 pandemic while studying history at Brigham Young University. In a time of global upheaval, the camera became a personal refuge — a way to find stillness in uncertainty. That pursuit gradually deepened into a discipline, one he has carried alongside his career in the green energy sector.

In 2024, after returning to Japan and Korea, David recommitted to his craft with renewed intention. His work ranges from cultural landmarks in East Asia. These include the vermilion gates of Kyoto and the quiet palace gardens of Seoul. It also extends to the vast, sculpted landscapes of the American West.

What distinguishes his photography is not subject matter alone, but a consistent ability to draw out serenity from any scene. His lens slows things down. It finds the calm that usually goes unnoticed.
